Reese Witherspoon

Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon (born on March 22 1976) is an American actress. Her numerous awards include an Academy Award, British Academy Film Award and Primetime Emmy Award. She was also honored with two Golden Globe Awards. Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people around the globe in 2006 and in 2015, and Forbes listed her as one of the World's 100 Most Powerful Women in 2021 and 2019. Forbes has named her the world's most wealthy actress in 2021. She has an estimated net worth $400 million. Witherspoon made her screen debut in The Man in the Moon (1991). In 1999, Witherspoon made her name with her part of a supporting actress in Cruel Intentions. She was also famous for playing Tracy Flick as Election's black comedy. Her fame grew with playing Elle Woods in the comedy Legally Blonde (2001) and the sequel, Legally Blonde 2003, as well as for her role in the romantic comedy Sweet Home Alabama (2002). In 2005, she earned notoriety and the Academy Award for Best Actress for portraying June Carter Cash in the musical biopic Walk the Line. After a downturn in her career, with her only box-office hit was the romantic comedy Water for Elephants (2011), Witherspoon made a comeback by directing and producing Cheryl Strayed in the drama Wild (2014) that was nominated again for Best Actress at the Academy Awards. She has continued to perform predominantly in television and has been a part of and produced many female-led adaptations of literature under Hello Sunshine. The series include Big Little Lies, an HBO drama series (2017-2019), The Morning Show as an Apple TV+ drama series (2019-present) and Little Fires Everywhere (2020). In the very first she won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Limited Series. She also wrote and directed the films Gone Girl (2014), and Where the Crawdads Sing (222). She is on the board of the Children's Defense Fund and was also honored to serve as the chair of Avon Foundation's charitable foundation for women's issues in 2007.
