Amy Smart is a former American model and actor. Amy Smart was born and raised in California USA began her modelling in Italy. In 1996 she made her first appearance as an actress in the TV film Her Costly Affair. The struggle she had to get an appearance for Starship Troopers, a film with mainly minor roles was a gruelling battle. This was not easy for Amy because she had to move from modelling into the acting profession. Models aren't regarded as the best actors so they tend to be given smaller roles that aren't very important. Amy was determined to keep trying. She worked her way up to bigger roles. She began in The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. The 2005 romantic comedy Just Friends, which also had Ryan Reynolds, saw her play more prominent parts. Amy was recognized after more than 10 years working. She went on doing some major films such as the Crank series opposite Jason Statham and the series Shameless in which she portrayed the well-loved character of recurring.
