Amy Smart was an American model as well as actress. She was born in California USA, Amy Smart started her modeling career in California. Her first acting role was in the TV production Her Costly Affair. The struggle she had to get the role in Starship Troopers, a film which featured only minor characters, was a gruelling battle. It was very difficult for her to make the transition between modeling and acting because the models werent usually thought of as actors and were mostly granted smaller, insignificant roles. Amy did not give up. Her first big part came from The 70s followed by Varsity Blues. Amy then moved into leading parts in 2005's love story Just Friends starring Ryan Reynolds. Amy gained the recognition she'd been seeking for nearly 10 years after her film just Friends debuted. Amy went on to appear in major movies including the Crank Series opposite Jason Statham, and Shameless.
